Staff and volunteers at Isle of Wight NHS Trust are opening their doors to explain how the NHS can provide lifelong and fulfilling careers and excellent volunteer experiences.
A wide range of careers and volunteer opportunities will be on show at the NHS Careers and Volunteers Open Day on Saturday 24th November 2018. The event is being held between 10:00 and 15:00 in the Education Centre at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
Anyone interested in a career in the NHS or volunteering their time to support patients and staff is invited to come along to find out more about the range of career and volunteer opportunities available within your local NHS. Volunteering, work experience, temporary and permanent positions are available. A number of departments at the Trust which includes ambulance, community, hospital, learning disability and mental health services will be available to discuss careers and voluntary work.
Cathy Armstrong, Volunteers and Careers Co-Ordinator, says:
“The range of careers in the NHS is huge with hundreds of roles, both clinical and non-clinical. The NHS on the Island can provide a great start to a career that can take you to many different places or allow you to stay in one place and still develop many skills. We’re having some great success now recruiting to Team NHS IoW and we’re keen to support as many Islanders into careers in health care as possible.
“We’re also looking forward to seeing many prospective volunteers join us for this event; Cathy continued. “We have many opportunities across the organisation for individuals to volunteer to support patients and staff.”
