East Cowes Vics have reached the 2nd Round of the Servio Hampshire Senior Cup by beating Wessex Premier League Lymington Town at the Hythe Garage Stadium yesterday evening (Wednesday).
Vics are the 2nd Isle of Wight side to have reached the next round of the competition after Cowes beat Hythe & Dibden on penalties on Tuesday.
This was Vics’ 4th win on the bounce having already secured impressive league wins against Millbrook, Verwood and Ringwood.
The Beatrice Avenue boys ensured their place in the next round through goals from Josh Neale in the 23rd minute and Charlie Marsek in the 28th in a dominant 1st half display.
Vics return to action at home in the FA Vase on Saturday 26th August with a home tie against Brockenhurst.
Hampshire Senior Cup: Newport IoW 0-4 Baffins Milton Rovers
The Port were unable to take momentum from Saturday’s league win into their game against Wessex Premier leaders Baffins Milton Rovers, conceding 2 goals in both halves to depart from the Senior Cup at the 1st hurdle.
Newport were missing key players Jordan Browne, Joe Butcher and Josh Younie – all of whom had scored against Hythe & Dibden on Saturday.
This was Baffins’ 2nd win on the Island this season, having already won 2-4 against Cowes Sports at Westwood Park.
The County Town Club next travel to face Alton in the FA Vase on Saturday.

Ryde Saints 0-12 Osborne Coburg
Osborne Coburg knocked 12 goals past Ryde Saints at Smallbrook to go 3rd in the Division 2 table. Prolific scorer Mark Taylor bagged 4 2nd half goals, with Adam Cantelo. Jack Davies, Harry Green, Nick Payne, Carl Phillipson, Josh Piper and substitutes James Green and Liam Sumpter also appearing on the scoresheet.
Sandown and Lake First 3-3 Niton
League leaders Sandown & Lake were held to a draw by Niton at the County Ground. Billy Gladdis, Billy Haylor and Charlie Southcott were all on target for the South Wight side.
Seaview 1-5 AFC Wootton
Wootton have gone 2nd in Division 2 after a comprehensive victory over Seaview at Seaview Rec. Josh Collins and Harris Payne both bagged braces for the away side with the remaining goal coming courtesy of Aaron Burford. Chris Wallace scored a consolation goal for Seaview.
