Isle of Wight footballer Dan Butler has signed for League 1 Stevenage Football Club subject to EFL/FA approval…
Left-back Dan has spent the last 4 seasons at League 1 Peterborough United where he made 112 appearances in League One and the Championship since signing in 2019.
The 28-year-old also spent 3 years at Newport County, where he was twice named player-of-the-year. Altogether, Dan has over 300 EFL appearances to his name.
Dan – who grew up in Cowes – came to the attention of Portsmouth in 2004 aged just 10, when he joined their youth system. He made his debut for Pompey in 2012 in the League Cup against Plymouth Argyle and went on to make 48 appearances for the South Coast club.
After signing for Stevenage, Dan said:
“I’m excited to be here. There’s a lot of good momentum at this club after getting promoted last season. The stadium looks good, the training ground is amazing – so it was an easy decision”.
