West Wight have advanced to the 3rd round of the Hampshire Trophy by beating Hampshire League Fleet Spurs. The game was switched to North Island after 2 postponements at Camp Road due to waterlogged pitches. Ash Brett opened the scoring for West Wight in the 8th minute with a glancing header from a Chris Elliott free kick (0-1). Spurs equalized (1-1) before Josh Daley restored West Wight’s lead on the stroke of half time (1-2). The evergreen Gareth Bricknell gave the Island a 2-goal cushion with a 70th minute goal (1-3) before Spurs pulled a goal back (2-3). Chris Elliott then ensured West Wight made it through to the next round with a goal in the final minute (2-4) After the match, opening goal scorer Ash Brett said:
“We weren’t at our best and should’ve scored more goals but this season we’ve found a way to grind out wins even if we’re not playing well so that’s really pleasing. We’ll need that if we’re to go far in this competition and be competitive in the league for the rest of the season.” West Wight celebrate taking the lead
Also in the Hants Trophy, Cowes Sports progressed to the next round by beating Shanklin 4-3 on penalties at the County Ground. Charlie Southcott and Dan Whittle got the goals for the Yachtsmen; Dan Field bagged a brace for the Seasiders.

Osborne Coburg Reserves have advanced to the next round of the Hants Vase by beating Sandown & Lake Reserves. The Burg scorers were James Taylor (direct from a corner), Jamie Linington and Ryan Anker. In the other Vase fixture, Newport Reserves were knocked out of the competition by Bournemouth Manor. Ventnor are through to the next round of the competition by beating Northwood St Johns on penalties. Ventnor’s goals in full time play came courtesy of Robert Gee and Charlie Urry. The successful penalty takers were Charlie Urry, Jack Barsdell, Sonny Mulholland and Neo Lamb.
In the Memorial Cup…
Osborne Coburg put 12 past Seaview to advance to the next round. Corrie Stafford got 4 goals, Mark Taylor scored a hat trick, and Carl Phillipson bagged a brace with the remaining goals scored by Harry Green, Liam Sumpter and Nick Payne. Sandown & Lake are also through to the next round by beating Newchurch 0-2 at Watery Lane.
In Harwoods Division 1…
In the East Wight Derby, Bembridge beat High Park 2-5 at Steyne Park. Josh Field scored a hat trick for the ‘away’ side, with the remaining goals coming courtesy Charlie Broadbent and Barry Calvert. Vectis overcame East Cowes Sports 4-1 at Cowes Enterprise College thanks to strikes from Mash Wherry, Jamie Barratt, Harrison Jenkins and an own goal.

Whitecroft & Barton Sports are top on goal difference after knocking 7 goals past Ventnor at Sandy Lane. Robert Taylor scored 4 for W&B, Kyle Drew bagged a brace with Barney Snaith getting the remaining goal. Nathan Barlow was the Ventnor scorer in the 2nd minute.
