Whitecroft & Barton Sports have advanced to the 3rd Round of the Hampshire Trophy by beating Hampshire League Stockbridge at Sandy Lane. W&B’s win came courtesy of a 8th minute strike from Sam Cant, and further goals from Tommy Jackson 43rd and Josh Appell in the 50th minutes. Stockbridge struck back with a consolation goal a minute from full time. The Hampshire side were said to have been of a high standard but were beaten by an by a strong performance from W&B, with Sam Yelland in defence and Aidan Sainsbury in midfield playing exceptionally well. Full time: Whitecroft & Barton Sports 3-1 Stockbridge Ventnor 6-1 East Cowes Vics Development In the other game featuring Isle of Wight sides in the Trophy, Ventnor saw off East Cowes Vics Development at Watcombe Bottom thanks to 5 goals from Emmerson Tattersall and a further strike from Charlie Urry. Charlie Hart scored the consolation goal for Vics. 
In the Hants Vase…
3 Isle of Wight sides competing in the Vase on Saturday – W&B Reserves, Bembridge Reserves and West Wight Reserves – were beaten by North Island opposition. West Wight Reserves were the unluckiest of the trio, losing 6-5 on penalties after drawing 2-2 over the 90 minutes of full time play. Jack Butler scored a 1st half brace for West Wight. Sandown & Lake, however, are through to the next round after beating Folland Sports A on the mainland. Sandown’s game came courtesy of veteran Jake Lester, who calmly converted a throw in on the 15 minute mark to score the only goal of the game.
In Harwoods Division 1…
West Wight have gone level on points with W&B at the top of Division 1, after beating Vectis by the best of 5 goals at Cowes Community College. Jake Symes and Kudzi Mazambara got the goals for Vectis; Gareth Bricknell, Chris Elliott and Josh Daley were on target for the visitors. Both W&B and West Wight have 26 points, with W&B having superior goal difference and a a game in hand on their rivals.
