
Brading Town were the only Isle of Wight side to make it through to the 2nd round of the Hants Trophy by beating mainland opposition on Saturday (30th September).
Liam Bennett, Mitchell Walker and Dan Vale were on target for the Romans as they beat Compton 3-1 at the Peter Henry Ground to advance to the next round.
In other Hampshire Trophy games, Vectis lost 1-2 to Colden Common at Cowes Enterprise College, and East Cowes Sports were beaten by the same score line by Baffins Milton Rovers at the GKN Sports Ground. Whitehill and Borden were awarded a walkover victory against Binstead.

Hat tricks from Oliver Frost and Barney Snaith as well as a strike from Charlie Culiss saw W&B trounce Gosport Borough Youth

Mark Taylor scored 4, Nick Payne bagged a brace, and Liam Sumpter and Harry Green found themselves on the scoresheet as Osborne Coburg saw off Niton. The away team’s goals came courtesy of Jared Cousins, Billy Haylor and Gary Hills.
Overton United Reserves 2-5 AFC Wootton
Aaron Burford bagged 4 as Wootton knocked 5 past Overton United Reserves. Maca Barnes also scored for the Island side.
Sandown and Lake 7-0 Ryde Saints
Jack Evans got his first hat trick in men’s football as Sandown beat Ryde Saints at the Fairway. The remaining goals came from Thomas Bleach, Jack Lester, Luke Healy and Jared Jones.
