3 Isle of Wight teams – Bembridge, Ventnor and West Wight – have battled their way through to the 4th round of the Hampshire Trophy.
WEST WIGHT 2-2 BISHOP WALTHAM DYNAMOS West Wight won 4-1 on penalties
West Wight scraped through to the 4th round of the Hants Trophy by beating Bishops Waltham on penalties on a foggy afternoon at Camp Road. The home side began brightly with Chris Elliott hitting the visitors’ crossbar in the 3rd minute. In the 13th minute, Josh Daley won a controversial penalty for a foul that appeared to have been committed outside the 18-yard box. Elliott took 3 attempts to convert the penalty as the referee judged the Bishop Waltham goalkeeper to have been off his line in the first 2 penalty attempts (1-0). The Dynamos came back strongly towards the end of the 1st half, with West Wight keeper McCormack forced to make a spectacular save in the 37th minute, following which Tom Riddell scored an equalising goal for the away side (1-1). 4 minutes from the half time whistle, Louis White put the Dynamos into the lead by striking the ball into the far corner of the goal (1-2).

“This was a typical cup tie for the time of year on a heavy pitch. However, we have found a way to win even when not playing well. “Bishop Waltham were unlucky. They were the better side in the 1st half, but we came back in the 2nd.”

Hope the motorcyclist will be ok , a trailer should not be reversing into a road without someone in the road with hi vis on to warn traffic
Spot on, my thoughts and feelings exactly.
Hope the biker makes a full recovery and gets adequately compensated!
On my way to work today 3 cars going down staplers road (30 mph zone) got over taken by a motorcycle the cars were doing 30 mph he overtook all 3 cars at the same time my guess 40 mph to 45 mph but remember car driver think BIKE
What a selfless careless statement there’s been a accident and someone is serious condition ffs
Very true selfless careless statement but it could have been that very rider that overtook 3 cars in a 30 mph zone
Hardly “selfless careless” is it? Maybe learn to read and write before hitting the keyboard in anger. I presume that you mean “selfish and uncaring” but I could be wrong.
He simply repeated what Meme said by the looks so maybe you should be picking in them
Pi55 0ff not all bikers do that. Look at the number of car drivers crashing on the island on there own.
No you pi55 off more accidents are caused by motor bikes coming back yesterday by snows garage I got over taken along with 1 bus & 3 cars blood idiot
Keyboard warrior. No motorbikes are not the cause of more accidents. Get your facts right. Or better still pop down to our workshop and I’ll sort you out and straighten you up. Idiot who was reversing the tractor is the one at fault here, it’s not an accident, he’s to blame by doing an illegal manoeuvre on the road. Absolutely shocking driver whoever was incharge of the tractor to reverse onto a road.
Making threats on social media very smart. It would help if you told him what workshop to pop down to
That’s because there are more cars on the road than bikes not rocket science
Utter door handle stupid statement
Don’t be a d!ck Ben.
I blame the Deformers
Based purely on your estimate of speed, are you calibrated correctly Ben?
Oh and by the way, it’s called filtering in traffic, and is perfectly legal.
Filtering is when traffic is barely moving or stationary so your telling me if a police car was going along at 30 mph in a 30 mph zone and you went past them on a motorcycle at 35 mph they wouldn’t pull you over as it’s filtering apparently
These Farm trailers need a bit more licensing care and the way that a lot of the Tractors and Trailers are driven are just downright dangerous especially at the speeds some of them are travelling at.
i hope that the poor Biker is not too badly injured and recovers quickly.
They think they own the road that’s why this happened.
What’s the betting the trailer was displaying a
different registration number to the actual vehicle
pulling the trailer.
IT’S WHAT HAPPENS ON THE ISLAND, NO RULES!
Same with Number plates on vehicles being ILLEGAL
due to positioning of letters and numbers.
A country lane then all ways expect the unexpected and drive slow, could of been stationary in road, lorry coming towards, a horse or child etc would of seen same outcome . Hopefully motorcyclist will be ok.
