Northwood St Johns Reserves have got through the last 8 of the Hampshire Vase by beating AFC Station on penalties at the Isle of Wight Community Club on Saturday (28th January).
The senior Northwood have also made it to the quarter finals of the Hampshire Trophy.
Northwood led 1-0 at half time through a Charlie Shaw strike from a corner that he calmly slotted home.
The 2nd half was a more open and AFC Station equalised on the break. The Island side thought they’d won with a well-worked goal and strike from James Butt only for AFC Station to equalise with 15 minutes to go.

The game then went to penalties, with 10 players each taking one, and James Bedding was the penalty hero both scoring and saving.

In the Isle of Wight Senior (Gold) Cup …
Brading Town are through to the quarter finals of the Gold Cup after seeing off Vectis at Vicarage Lane courtesy of strikes from Dan Vale and Aaron Bennett. Jamie Barratt was the scorer for Vectis in a game in which they finished with 9 men after a sending off and a sin-binning.
Binstead & COB reached the last 8 by beating Sandown & Lake at the Fairway thanks to goals from Cian McGee and Reon Obeyskere.
Whitecroft & Barton Sports remain in the competition after Oakfield failed to raise a side.

Top-of-the-table Shanklin went 3 points clear after narrowly beating Northwood St Johns at the County Ground with Nicky Vyse and Wayne Newnham scoring for Shanklin. The league leaders remain unbeaten in the season to date. Callum Bowen-Clarke got the consolation goal for NSJ.
3rd-placed Cowes Sports reserves were held to a draw at Westwood Park by Bembridge. George Holmes was on target for the Yachtsmen and Nathan Roberts got the goal for Bembridge.
4th-placed West Wight cruised past Ryde Saints at Camp Road thanks to a Charlie Smeeton brace and further strikes from Louie Thomas and Luke Phillips (on his debut).
