In the only Wessex League game on the Isle of Wight today (Saturday) 10th-placed East Cowes Vics face Division 1 league leaders Hamworthy Rec at Beatrice Avenue. Beating Hamworthy is a massive ask for Vics. Hamworthy have won 13 of their 14 league games in the league to date. Can Vics take all 3 points against the strongest side in their league? Manager Alex Smith says:

Hamworthy have done exceptionally well to put such a great run together, and they already look certain for promotion. “With that being said, we’re building an outstanding team at Vics. Our boys will run through walls for each other and the character of our group is exemplary. “We’ve had a great week of preparation and we’re confident heading into tomorrow.”
Also in Wessex Division 1, 17th-placed Newport travel to North Island to face 7th-placed Totton & Eling. In the Wessex Premier, Cowes Sports’ game at Moneyfields has been postponed as their ground improvements have yet to be completed. The Yachtsmen offered to switch the fixture to Westwood Park. However, the Wessex League refused to give their go-ahead for the game to be played on the Island.
