Isle of Wight bodybuilder Pearl Dobson has just competed in her very 1st professional show: the UKUP (UK Ultimate Physiques) British Finals in York.
Pearl achieved her Pro status earlier in the year. As a professional athlete, she has to compete against athletes of all ages., as there aren’t age categories.
She went up against 8 other athletes and came a very respectable 4th place. She was the oldest in her category but is actually used to that now at 58 years old.
Her trainer, Lance Griffiths, commented:
“This was an incredible finale to her first season. Pearl now plans to take on board everything that she has learnt as an athlete and hopefully inspire other ‘older’ ladies (and men) to improve their health, wellness and lifestyle.
“Next season’s plan have not been finalised yet, but it will definitely involve more competitions possibly in Europe.”
Pearl says:
‘’This was by far the toughest preparation I have ever endured, knowing full well that I was going to have to step up my game.
