Local singer/songwriter Emellia is to release her second single, ‘Run’, on major streaming services tomorrow (Friday 26th April).
The 21-year-old rising star from Binstead, whose real name is Emily Wild, uses several different electronic elements in her music.
Run is a contrasting single to the debut single ‘Authority’, showing the true colours of darkness that a relationship can have. Authority was released last month as part of Emily’s commercial music degree at the Isle of Wight’s Platform One Music College.
Emily has spent the past 6 months developing her work, opening up the opportunity to release commercially viable products.
Speaking about her new single, Emily has said:
“The light and dark between ‘Authority’ and ‘Run’ is telling a story between wanting to be loved by somebody and wanting to get out as quickly as possible. I think this is so important because there are so many people going through the hard times that a relationship can bring that nobody knows anything about.
“The lyrics I use represent what a close friend had to go through in their life a few years ago – thankfully they are now very happy. It’s important to understand what can happen to people behind closed doors.
“I worked with the producer Em Johnson on this to make it quite unique!”

‘Run’ will be available on streaming services worldwide from Friday.
