An outdoor screening of the Monty Python classic ‘Life of Brian’ is to be shown at Brading Roman Villa on Friday (14th July) in aid of The British Heart Foundation and the Roman Villa itself.
The event has been entitled ‘The Life of Brian Beardfest’ as organisers Stacey Kettner and The Extraordinary Travelling Film Show are encouraging everyone to attend wearing fake beards or dressed up as Romans, apostles or other characters of the film.
Stacey, an Island comedy writer and occasional stand up, would describe herself as a tired, lazy, overweight couch potato who aches and no longer wants to be the person she has become. Refusing to carry on this way, and realising that she is setting herself up for serious ill health the older she gets, she has decided that she needs to do something drastic in order to change her mindset.
Never one to do things by halves, Stacey has decided to sign up to the British Heart Foundation trek to Machu Picchu in September. Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer but the British Heart Foundation are leading the fight against it. Stacey has decided to join their fight for every heartbeat by raising £2,500 to help fund research and to help families stay together. Some of the funds raised from this event will go towards that fundraising target.
Doors open at 19:30 with the film starting at around 21:00 when it is dusk. Tickets cost £10 + £1 booking fee in advance at https://www.travellingfilmshow.co.uk/life-of-brian, but are available for £12 on the night.
