Did you spot a hot air balloon in the sky this morning? Many Islanders got in touch with Island Echo when a hot air balloon was sighted landing in a field in Ashey, near Ryde.
The rare sighting of a hot air balloon over the Isle of Wight was part of trials by the team from Robin Hill who are preparing for a brand new event this May half term.
The sky’s the limit this May at Robin Hill’s brand new soaring event, Sky High, which takes place from the 27th to 30th May between 10:00-22:00.
Islanders and tourists alike will be given the opportunity to marvel at the sight of over 40 hot air balloons of all shapes and sizes, taking flight from and tethered in the Lower Valley. You’ll have the opportunity to meet the pilots, walk inside the balloons and possibly even win the chance to take flight. In addition, there’s kite making and flying workshops for the kids.
To make the event even more spectacular, Night Glow will take place on 27th and 29th May so you have the opportunity to see the balloons at twilight, lit up in all their glory, together with incredible sound and light production. There’ll be a bar and food available throughout the evening with live music too.
Tickets are available now at www.robin-hill.com.
