A local photographer from St Helens will be heading to the Savoy Hotel in London after being nominated for the British Photography Awards (BPA).
As previously reported, photographer Sienna Anderson was shortlisted back in December within the birdlife category of the competition.
Sienna’s work regularly features on Island Echo, from stunning sunrises to rolling landscapes. It is her photograph of an Egret at Hersey Nature Reserve in Seaview that has scooped her a nomination in the 2019 awards though. The same photograph previously won the ‘Birds in Flight’ category at the Bird Photographer of the Year awards.
In total, 320 images were shortlisted across 16 categories. Sienna’s photograph, shot on a Nikon D750, is up against 19 others in the birdlife category.
Since then Sienna has been placed within the top 2 within the competition – meaning she will be heading to the Savoy Hotel on the 4th February.
The BPA is an independent photography competition open to all British-based photographers, as well as all British photographers the world over.
Sienna is over the moon after finding out the remarkable news yesterday (Wednesday).
