Drivers on the Isle of Wight can now pay for parking via Apple Pay when using the PayByPhone app.
PayByPhone has announced it’s extension of Apple Pay to the UK meaning those parking in a Council-controlled area can quickly purchase a ticket with their thumb print.
The Isle of Wight is 1 of just 18 areas trialing the new service, which is set to cut down the time it takes to park. Motorists can simply download the PaybyPhone app, enter the parking location number and tap their thumb print to confirm the purchase. Normal credit and debit card payments are still available.
Kevin Bird, Commercial Director of PayByPhone UK explains:
“Apple Pay will transform the parking journey for PayByPhone users, creating a industry leading experience for our growing user base. We’re now challenging coins and credit card payments for speed, and of course, with PayByPhone you can extend your parking session on the move,”
