Local charity Independent Arts is inviting ex-service personnel to their afterWARds Memory Café.
AfterWARds is an intergenerational creative arts project designed to enhance public understanding of the impact of war on the lives of service personnel.
Following the theme of communication, the project supports participants to create video diaries, written work, and photographic life stories, which will be featured in a public exhibition in February 2016.
Independent Arts are inviting veterans and younger (ex-service and currently serving) military personnel to participate in this exciting project by attending one of our reminiscence sessions. Each session is led by one of the charity’s experience creative practitioners in a relaxed and welcoming environment enabling participants to share their experiences and memories.
The Memory Café will take place at Newport Methodist Church, Quay Street on Tuesday 24th November 12:30-14:30. Participants are encouraged to bring photographs and artefacts as well as their verbal memories. The session is free to attend and refreshments will be served.
