Sandown Bay’s science, nature and carnival arts pile-up, Hullabaloo, is returning to Sandown this weekend – all for free.
Hullabaloo’s Talk Tent will host a quick-fire programme of talks and films to expand our brains here in the Isle of Wight Biosphere – from hyperlocal to global, there are modern wildlife conservation imperatives and success stories, positive community initiatives, new economic thinking and arts and culture updates.
Some of the confirmed highlights so far include Biosphere Biodiversity – hear about the success of the Island’s Sea Eagles from Forestry England and learn from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust about the feasibility and benefits of a beaver reintroduction.
Brewed in the Bay – learn how 1 of the newest community breweries Boojum & Snark and 1 of the oldest, Goddards, collaborated to craft a new range of beers inspired by life in Sandown Bay on the Isle of Wight.
As well as that, 2 energising energy stories join the line-up – visitors will hear about the successful solar farm managed by Wight Community Energy and their plans for the future, and how Keert’s electric cargo bike delivery is ‘wheeling in’ the benefits for the Isle of Wight’s business network.
Meanwhile, for children, Isle of Wight storyteller, Sue Bailey, has been squeezing poets, musicians, illustrators and artists into 1 special space for the first-ever Spinning Yarns at Hullabaloo.
Sadly, the weather forecast doesn’t look promising for the 2-day event…
