Hovertravel are to increase the frequency of early morning crossings between Ryde and Southsea on Monday mornings throughout November and December.
The cross-Solent operator has said that it’s recognised that in recent weeks the 06:15 and 06:45 services on Monday mornings have almost reached capacity. This morning passengers experienced delays due to services being in high demand.
As a result of customer feedback and operational observations, additional services are to be introduced.
For a trial period of 5 weeks, a 15 minute service will run from 06:15 until 08:45 on Monday 20th November and on Mondays only until 18th December (inclusive).
Additional services will be added at 06:30 and 07:00 from Ryde and 06:45 and 07:15 from Southsea.
Loretta Lale, Head of commercial and marketing at Hovertravel says:
“We always make a conscious effort to listen to our passengers and our early morning commuters have asked for more services at the start of the week.
“The speed of our craft allows us to add in additional crossings when demand is high, and we are introducing four new crossings for a trial period of 5 weeks. At the end of the trial, we will review all feedback and usage to determine their continuation in the timetable”.
