The Island’s most historic visitor attraction, Shanklin Chine, is opening it gates to everyone for a free music event on Sunday (4th June).
The Adur Band will be playing live from 11:30 – 12:30 on the front deck this Sunday (4th June). This 50 piece band will be playing live in the sunshine adding to the ambiance and magical
feeling around the Chine.
During the time the band is playing visitors will be able to come into the Chine free of charge up to the tea room, antiques shop and PLUTO room areas.
Jo Porter, Operations Manager of Shanklin Chine and the Fisherman’s Cottage Inn said:
“We wanted to open the Chine entrance to all for this wonderful music event so everyone can enjoy this musical spectacle. It’s not everyday you get to experience a 50 piece band playing
live.”
She continued:
“By opening the Chine up for FREE up to the tea room, antiques shop and PLUTO room areas, people can come and get a peak at the Chine and all the hard work that’s been done over the winter. Hopefully this will entice them to come back and explore the entire attraction.”
So why not come along and enjoy tea and cake while listening to this amazing large band play live and look over the Chine. It may just entice you to come back and experience the whole attraction, see the waterfalls and explore the dino trail.
With 7 days worth of free returns you can come back again and again and also experience the evening illuminations when the Chine is transformed into an enchanting wonderland filled with
beautiful uplifting lights.

I think the traditional brass band is wonderful, evocative of good times past, before the aggressive impatient drug filled modern era ruined the peace and stability of family life in this country.
