High jumper Charlie Button – who has been selected to represent the Isle of Wight in High Jump at the 2025 NatWest International Island Games in Orkney – is appealing for funding to enable him to compete.
This will be Charlie’s 3rd time competing in this prestigious event, which is often called the “Small Islands Olympics.” As Charlie is self-funding his trip, he is reaching out for support to cover travel, accommodation, and competition costs.
So far, his campaign has raised £710 toward a target of £850.
Charlie says:
“I’m thrilled to share that I have been selected to represent the Isle of Wight in High Jump at the 2025 NatWest International Island Games in Orkney – my third time competing at this incredible event!
“What makes these Games so special is that they allow athletes from the Isle of Wight to compete for our island on the world stage, rather than as part of a larger nation like England or Great Britain. It’s a unique opportunity for island athletes to showcase their talents and represent their community.
“As with most athletes competing in the Island Games, I’m self-funding my trip, which is why I’m reaching out for your support. Any contribution towards my goal would mean the world to me and help cover travel, accommodation, and competition costs
