Independent Arts, which has been running its popular DanceMakers sessions across the Island for the last 18 months, are inviting Islanders to join a new group in Newport on Friday afternoons.
The sessions, which are supported by a grant from the Headley Trust, help older people build strength, balance and co-ordination through gentle dance movement. The sessions are designed to help improve memory, through creative choreography.
As well as the general health benefits, the sessions are fun and sociable too, offering participants the opportunity to work independently, in small groups and as a whole.
A new DanceMakers group has opened in Newport on Friday afternoons from 13:15-14:45 at St John’s Church Hall, Drake Road. There are places available in some of the other groups too.
Telephone the office on 01983 822437 to book a place or to learn more.
