Harwoods Garage in Wootton have confirmed that their unleaded fuel storage tanks were filled with diesel last week due to an error during a delivery.
On the afternoon of Thursday 3rd May, Certas Energy delivered fuel to Harwood’s Garage but filled the unleaded tanks with diesel by mistake.
The mistake wasn’t discovered by Harwoods’ staff until the following morning, by which time customers had already been filling up their tanks with the wrong type of fuel. The affected fuel pumps were closed immediately.
Any customers who have experienced any issues after purchasing unleaded fuel between 13:00 on Thursday 3rd May and 10:30 on Friday 4th May should contact Certas Energy’s insurance company direct, who will process any repair claims due to this error. You should hold onto receipts and proof of fuel purchase.

A spokesperson for Harwoods has said:
“We can only apologize for any inconvenience caused by this error from the fuel company Certas Energy and we will endeavour to support our customers to fix any issues they have experienced. We thank you for your continued custom”.
It was a Certas Energy lorry that left the road at Chale on Wednesday.
