thewillowbandOn Friday 12th December The Willow Band play Ventnor Arts Club, appearing for the second time at the popular South Wight venue.

The last time they came to the Island, audiences reported that they found the band’s performance wonderfully uplifting, great fun and highly professional. They are not alone. The band has, in under two years since forming, appeared at Glastonbury, played the opening slot on the main stage at Guilfest – tagged as ones to watch by folk luminaries – and released their first EP ahead of album planned for next year.

The Willow Band came about following a song writing retreat in Spain where two of its members, Fiona and Paul, first met. Upon the bizarre discovery that they only lived minutes away from each other in Surrey, they decided to bring a third song writing friend, Dave, into the mix. Fusing folk and pop together, the trio keep their three-part harmonies tight and their stringed instruments close to their hearts.
