Subscribers to the Isle of Wight Council’s garden waste kerbside collection service can now renew their subscription online with direct debit.
The council’s green garden waste collection service has been refreshed to offer customers the option of a new direct debit payment service that will automatically renew each year.
7,000 existing customers can renew their subscription online at www.iwight.com/greengardenwaste. New customers will be able to join the service from 2nd March, but there is already a waiting list of 2,000 households.
Councillor Steve Hastings, Cabinet member for recycling, said:
“Following feedback from our satisfied customers about how we could improve services and as part of our ongoing ambitions to provide digital-by-default services and improve council services. We have listened and are now able to offer online direct debit payments, either monthly or annually.”
With such great take up and interest, the council are changing some green garden waste collection rounds so that they can now serve up to 10,000 properties. For £72 per year, the equivalent of £6 per month, for a fortnightly collection which includes the free collection of your real Christmas tree each year.
The council, like a number of other organisations, are currently unable to accept card payments due to an issue with the service provider. The authority is currently working with the provider while they resolve this issue.
Or if you live in North Road, Shanklin you can just take all your rubbish across the road in the middle of the night and dump it on the pavement on bin day and it will be collected anyway……..
