The Isle of Wight Green Party is to benefit from a fundraising concert next week, organised by prominent Island musicians.
‘Green is for Go 2!’ – a night of acoustic music featuring Paul Armfield and Jon Thorne – will be held on Friday 11th December at St Catherine’s Church in Ventnor as a follow-up to the packed-out ‘Green is for Go’ event which took place at Quay Arts during the General Election campaign.
Paul Armfield and Lamb’s Jon Thorne have been touring Europe together during October and November in support of Paul’s ‘Found’ album. This critically-aclaimed album tells stories inspired by a collection of vintage photographs found in Berlin flea markets. Double-bass player Jon has recorded and performed with many well-known artists including Danny Thompson, Robert Fripp, Donovan and Mr. Scruff.
At the benefit concert, Jon’s Ecology Jazz Trio will feature special guests Mark Chettle on piano and Rupert Brown on drums.
The event begins at 19:30 and tickets are £5 each, with all proceeds going to the Isle of Wight Green Party campaign fund. Advance tickets are available via PayPal at https://isleofwight.greenparty.org.uk/.
