Newport Parish Council are to unveil their Great War Memorial next week, remembering those who served and died during World War I.
The commemorative sculpture is to be installed at Furrlongs beside the River Medina and will be officially unveiled with a dedication ceremony on Wednesday 12th August at 14:00.
Guests will gather at the interpretation board before a parade to the silhouetted figures by standard bearers.
Newport Parish Council Chairman, Julie Jones-Evans will say a few words with project background being given by Mark Earp. Rev Kevin Arkell will give a blessing.
Flowers are due to be laid by Chairman of Isle of Wight Council, Charles Chapman and Jullie Jones-Evans for the Parish Council.
Guests are invited to join the ceremony for refreshments.
