Teams from across the Island and further afield are gearing up for a challenge and a half as the Isle of Wight Round Table’s ‘Great Car Pull 2018’ draws closer.
This coming Saturday (26th May) a number of teams will be pulling a car from Chale to Cowes in aid of the Joe Ellis Trust, which helps children on the Isle of Wight with cancer. The event will get underway at 06:00 and each team will be pulling the vehicle for around 1 mile each.
Businesses and organisations have been training hard for this fundraising event with entrants including: Stag Lane Motors; Strianstall; Tackt-Isle Adventures; The Strong Room Gym; the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service; Isle of Wight Rugby Football Club; Nigel Earley Tree Services; Spence Willard; The Sands Hotel and a variety of Round Tables from Petersfield, Romsey, Portsmouth and Fareham. There is even a team being entered from La Rochelle Round Table in France.
The last leg of the Great Car Pull will be pulled solely by Alexander Gadsden of Petersfield Round Table. Each of the teams are raising sponsorship for there particular stage in aid of the Joe Ellis Trust.
Donations can be made on day as the car makes its journey northwards to Cowes or alternatively people can donate via Just Giving at https://www.justgiving.com/joe-ellis-trust.
