Niton’s White Lion pub, which closed just over a year ago, is set to reopen as The Niton Arms under the leadership of local man, Matt Parker.
In order to differentiate between The White Lion in Niton and The White Lion in Arreton, the local is to be renamed The Niton Arms when it reopens as a gastro pub at Easter.
Although talks are still ongoing with the building’s owners, Enterprise Inns, all being well the pub will be returned to its former glory and will welcome locals and tourists alike into the village ahead of the Summer season.
The pub was previously run by Character Inns but spiraling costs and a lack of trade were blamed for the closure in January 2016.
