UPDATE (12:00): Cowes Sports v Bournemouth Poppies is OFF. East Cowes Vics v Ringwood Town is ON Andover Town v Newport (IoW) is OFF Cowes Sports – who are on a 9-game unbeaten run – currently lie 1 point below the 5th-placed Brockenhurst but have 3 games in hand. A win against 15th-placed Bournemouth Poppies today (Saturday) could see the Island’s sole Wessex Premier representatives rise to 5th if other results go in their favour. The Yachtsmen were due to play on Tuesday, but their game against Moneyfields was postponed due to a frozen pitch. Had they taken a point from this game, they would have risen to the playoff positions. Brockenhurst face a difficult away fixture against 2nd-placed Shaftesbury this Saturday. The other team in the chase for the 4th playoff place – 6th-place Portland United – have a home tie against Hamble. Manager Max Draper says of the game:
“After a difficult week with the weather, we are hoping to get back on the grass this Saturday at Westwood. We go into the game in good spirits, but there will be changes due to injury, suspension and unavailability. “This time of year really shows what depth the squad has. We look forward to welcoming Bournemouth and fingers crossed for another good game at Westwood.”

Vics currently lie 6 points behind 5th-placed Cove but have a game in hand over the team in the playoff position. 17th-placed Newport travel to North Hampshire to face 19th-placed Andover Town, hoping to distance themselves from the relegation places.
