Over £1,000 has been raised to help a family from Shorwell who have lost all of their possessions following a devastating fire on Sunday.
As previously reported by Island Echo, a blaze ripped through a property on Sandy Lane at just before 17:00 on Sunday evening. Fire crews from across the Island battled to bring the fire under control, but it had already spread from the first floor and into the roof space.
Mark Painter has established a Go Fund Me page in a bid to raise money to assist his daughter and her family in their hour of need.
No one was injured in the incident, but sadly nothing could be saved. Mark’s daughter has nothing but the clothes on her back.
Mark has commented:
“If you could give any assistance to helping them get back on their feet that would be greatly appreciated”.
