Ventnor Carnival Week is full steam ahead with a packed line-up of railway-themed events, children’s entertainment and traditional parades, promising fun for all ages from tomorrow (Wednesday).
The Children’s Parade and Main Carnival will take place on Wednesday (13th August), with the Illuminated Parade lighting up the town on Saturday (16th August).
Among the many highlights is a Community Day in Ventnor Park on Friday (15th August) from 12:00, where the park will come alive with music, stalls and family-friendly activities. Visitors can look forward to Stevo the Magician, circus workshops, Caulkhead Productions, games and more – all with a touch of steampunk and nods to the railway theme.
Ahead of the illuminated parade on Saturday, a model railway exhibition will be hosted at St Catherine’s Church from 10:00, offering a chance to learn about different trains and even try operating them.
The carnival week also features a variety of other events including a train-themed treasure hunt, quiz night, bingo and more. Full programme details can be found via the Ventnor Carnival Association Facebook page or at www.ventnorcarnival.org.
