Island Roads is taking the opportunity to resurface a busy Freshwater car park next week.
Avenue Road car park will be upgraded on 2 nights (7th/8th May) because the project to resurface the main road through Hale Common is set to be finished ahead of schedule.
Keith Gourlay, Construction Manager for Island Roads, says:
“The work at Hale Common has gone very smoothly which means we have a two-shift window before the crew’s next scheduled scheme.
“We don’t want to bring forward a scheme that we have already advertised – and residents may have made plans for – so we are taking the chance to upgrade Avenue Road Car Park.
“This work will improve a well-used amenity and follows on from the work completed 18 months ago to reconstruct and resurface Avenue Road. We appreciate we are doing the work at late notice but hope that by working overnight we will reduce inconvenience.”
The car park will be closed between 19:30 and 06:00 during work.
