In many places of work around the Island, at this time of year, conversations at the coffee machine turn to who’s wearing what and speculating on controversial events that may spice up the firm’s Christmas party. But for a significant number of the Island’s busy workers there’s no company party, nobody at the coffee machine but just a kettle in their kitchen. Many workers are freelance, self-employed and creative; working alone from home offices and for them too, there will be a ‘works do’
This Saturday (29th November) from 20:00 until late, all independent workers are invited along to enjoy a few drinks, some music, mix with like minds and kick off the Christmas party season. It’s a free event and all that’s asked is that names be emailed ahead to [email protected] for the guest list as there is a limit on numbers.
Furthermore, if any companies out there who’ve benefitted through the year form the custom of freelancers would like to say thank you and get some visibility among the freelance community, there’s the opportunity to sponsor some drinks or perhaps provide some goody bags. Businesses should contact [email protected].
