To celebrate Heritage Open Days the Museum of Island History will be open free of charge on Thursday 6th September.
The museum examines the history of the Isle of Wight ‘from fossils to festivals’ and is situated in the historic Guildhall on Newport High Street.
Come and find out more about the Hidden Heroes of the Isle of Wight in the temporary exhibition. Over 20 Island stories are examined in this fascinating display.
Bring your archaeological finds to be examined by Frank Basford from the Portable Antiquities Scheme and view some of the incredible artefacts found on the Isle of Wight.
