Newport Roman Villa is holding a free Discovery Day on Friday 1st April from 11:00 until 15:00.
Islanders are invited to head along and celebrate the 90th anniversary of the discovery of Newport Roman Villa, which was discovered on the 24 March 1926, when workmen uncovered Roman tiles while digging foundations for a garage.
There will be displays telling the story of the discovery of the Villa and activities for families – you could make a birthday badge to take home, have a go at the photo hunt and help find the missing tools for the Villa’s archaeologist.
