The Isle of Wight Council, in conjunction with the Isle of Wight NHS Trust, has announced it is supporting a multi-professional Support Worker Day for development and wellbeing. The event will take place on Saturday 27th January in the Education Centre at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport. This free event is funded by the NHS Trust and aimed specifically at support workers and care workers from across the health and social care system on the Isle of Wight. There are 3-time slots that attendees can choose from and pre-book here. Bookings are required so the team can manage numbers. During the day there will be a variety of activities and information available to attendees to help with their personal development and aid in some much-needed self-care and wellbeing. Attendees will need to pre-book 1 of 3 slots on the day. On arrival, they will be able to choose from activities including:
- Reiki massage
- Dance therapy
- Career progression and apprenticeships
- Your physical health
- Professional Development
- Learning for your role
- Mental Health
- And much more!
Laura Moody, Isle of Wight NHS Trust practice development facilitator, says:
“The support worker event is a great opportunity for colleagues working across the island to come together to find out more about how they can take their career to the next level. On the day there will also be local businesses on hand to offer advice and tasters on how support workers can support their wellbeing.”
