Some wet and windy weather looks set to hit this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, according to local forecasters IW Met Service.
Patchy rain will be on the agenda for the start of the annual event with things turning unsettled for a time as the weekend progresses.
Those heading to this year’s event should be prepared for all eventualities with plenty of suncream, a poncho and wellie boots!
Thursday will start off fairly cloudy as thousands of festival revellers cross the Solent and head to Seaclose Park. It will be a mad dash to get tents pitched as some showery rain is possible in the afternoon, followed by brighter spells. The temperature will sit around 15c with a fresh southwesterly breeze.
Sunny spells and patchy cloud are expected on Friday and it will be feeling warmer in the lighter winds. The temperature is expected to hit 17c with a light to moderate southerly breeze.
Things will start off fairly sunny on Saturday but by the afternoon showery rain and strong winds will move in – the most unsettled day of the long weekend. 15c with a strong and gusty southwesterly wind.
Sunday is looking slightly better with sunny spells to round off the festival, but still feeling cool in the breezy conditions. 16c with a fresh southwesterly breeze.
Further updates are expected as the week progresses. You can get all the latest from our official weather partners, IW Met Service, at www.iwmetservice.co.uk.

I hope the weather is not too wet because for some reason most of the public thinks it ok to use a taxi covered in mud, no respect for expensive property or any attempt to change clothing for travel purpose.
If it’s a muddy weekend I for one will not be working at night in order to have my taxi trashed..
Clare.
I need to leave the festival to go to a wedding and looking for a taxi early Saturday morning. If I promise to be presentable would you oblige?
Will there be taxis on during the weekend and easy to access as I’m not camping I’m in a hotel 6 miles away
Will they be putting straw or similar to soak up the mud.
Will they be putting straw or some thing similar because of the conditions there.
Please fingers crossed for good weather
Let’s hope they are prepared for the rain and mud.
Am singing in the rain just singing in the rain what a glorious feeling am bloody wet again,
