Flybe has gone into administration, resulting in the cancellation of hundreds of flights including those from Southampton Airport.
Flights across the country were grounded late last night (Wednesday) with the company going into administration during the early hours of this morning.
The company has ceased trading with immediate effect and joint administrators have been appointed.
Some 2,400 staff are affected by today’s news, as well as the thousands of passengers expected to travel with Flybe over the coming days, weeks and months.
Islanders expecting to fly out of Southampton are being told not to travel to the airport unless alternative travel arrangements have been made.
It’s unclear what the future holds for small airports like Southampton, as around 95% of flights in and out of the city were operated by Flybe.

If you are due to fly with Flybe, DO NOT TRAVEL TO THE AIRPORT unless you have arranged an alternative flight with another airline. Flybe is not able to arrange alternative flights.
If you have a booking sold by another airline that includes travel on a Flybe flight, contact the relevant airline or travel agent to confirm if there is any impact to your travel plans.
