Essential works which are needed to keep the floating bridge in operation at this important time are being carried out at night to minimise disruption to the service.
To allow work to be carried out to the vessel’s guide wheels, the service will be suspended at 23:00 tonight (Friday 27th March), and at the same time tomorrow and possibly Sunday.
The floating bridge will return to service each morning and run as normal during the day.
The vessel has carried fewer than 10 people in total after 23:00 this week as Islanders heed the government’s ‘Stay At Home, Save Lives’ message.

Remember when the ‘floating bridge’ was our ONLY main cause of concern? What a difference a few weeks make.
Waste of money
Considering only 10 have used it. Maybe not fix it and observe the lock down? I’m sure the mechanics world rather not mix with others and risk getting it.
Only 10 people AFTER 11pm… don’t forget the essential workers that might need to use it…
