The Cowes Floating Bridge has been suspended due to an exceptionally high tide this afternoon (Wednesday).
Council officials say they hope the service between East Cowes and Cowes will resume by 14:00.
The Isle of Wight Council apologises for any inconvenience.
UPDATE @ 14:15 – The floating bridge has now returned to a normal service.

Water too wet next!
Obiviously the design of this craft is not suitable for a regular service!
Equinox Spring tide with a slight increase in tide height due to the prevailing wind,..
happens a few times on most years around the spring & autumn equinoxes
so hardly exceptional
Next it will be the wrong type of water. And someone was suggesting that the council should take a 50% interest in the cross Solent ferries. They can’t even run a poxy floating bath tub let alone a ferry service.
