Councillors from across the Isle of Wight joined firefighters in remembering those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice at 2 special ceremonies in Ryde and Newport today (Friday).
At 12:00 a minutes silence was held as a mark of respect to firefighters up and down the country who have died whilst protecting their local communities, and those who are sadly no longer with us.
Councillors Lora Peacey-Wilcox, Steve Hastings, Ian Ward, Michael Murwill and Rodney Downer joined the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service crews in Newport, whilst Councillors Debbie Andre, Michael Lilley and Reg Barry headed to Ryde Fire Station.
