A major exercise involving the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service will be taking place near East Cowes today (Saturday).
The exercise will include a mock road traffic incident with multiple casualties, close to the CeCamm Centre on Whippingham Road.
Passers by can expect to see emergency vehicle activity between 10:15 and 14:00.
Island Echo understands that as many as 6 or 7 appliances will be taking part, with retained crews from across the Island expected to be paged to the ‘incident’.
A number of appliances will be crossing the Solent to take part in the exercise and provide fire cover.
