The Isle of Wight Council’s fostering service is holding a series of roadshows to recruit new carers.
The number of children requiring foster families is more than the amount of registered foster carers on the Isle of Wight.
The roadshows will have staff from the fostering team on hand to provide information and advice to anyone interested.
The team can be found at the following locations and times:
- Medina Leisure Centre – Tuesday 25th November – 10:00 to 14:00
- West Wight Sports Centre – Thursday 27th November – 10:00 to 14:00
- Newport Library – Friday 28th November – 10:00 to 14:00
Councillor Jonathan Bacon, Executive member for children’s services, said:
“We are desperately in need of more foster carers on the Island to care for children and young people who need support. I would encourage anyone who is interested in finding out more about becoming a foster carer to come along to one of our events and speak to our team.”
