Blackgang Chine is busy blowing up large inflatable sugar skulls as it gets ready to welcome back the nationally award-winning Fiesta of the Dead later this month.
This family Halloween event, inspired by Día de los Muertos, is running on selected evenings in October (25th, 26th, 29th, 30th, and 31st), promising a vibrant celebration of life, magic, and culture.
Guests will be met by the ‘Gate-Keeper’ who will ensure smooth passage to the Land of the Dead, where they’ll meet more colourful characters, be dazzled by a new fire show, and even able to send messages to loved ones though a Sacred Fire Lantern.
Park Manager, Dan White, has expressed his excitement for the upcoming event:
“Fiesta of the Dead isn’t your everyday Halloween event – it’s a celebration of life, a festival of colour and joy that brings families together for an unforgettable night.
“This year, we’re introducing new elements that capture the spirit of Día de los Muertos, and we can’t wait to see our guests immerse themselves in this magical experience.”
The heart of the event takes place in Cowboy Town, where you’ll find an epic new Fire Show, a live DJ, roaming characters and, of course, paella! It will be a hive of entertainment and celebration.
For those wanting some calm and reflection time, head to Rumpus Lawn, where you’ll find mesmerising aerial performances, glow workshops, and Sacred Fire Lanterns that send your messages to loved ones to the other side.
It’s also a rare opportunity to experience Blackgang Chine by night, with the rest of the parks offering being open and rides running.
Dan White adds:
“What makes Fiesta of the Dead so special is the mix of immersive family fun, fantastic shows, and, of course, our thrilling rides, but in the dark. There really is something for every member of the family to enjoy.”
Fiesta of the Dead is a unique, lively Halloween event that offers families an experience filled with magic, joy, and memories to last a lifetime. Whether you’re spending the entire day at Blackgang Chine or just joining for the evening festivities, this celebration of life is one you won’t want to miss!
