Quay Arts has a jam-packed day of family fun, an art exhibition preview, Christmas fundraising concert, meet the Quay Team & Trustees and live jazz this Saturday 6th December – and the charity is urging locals to support the Island Arts Charity and enjoy some festive good cheer.
Kicking off, Quay Arts and Eccleston George are hosting a free family art drop-in supported by the Daisie Rich Trust – Do You Want to Build a Snowman at Brown’ Café, Sandown between 10:00–13:00. Families are invited to come and create snow men and women out of all sorts of non-snowy materials. Families are encouraged to be creative together with activities for all ages.
Back at Quay Arts, a Christmas Carol Concert with Medina Community Choir starts at 14:00 to celebrate the arrival of the festive season. All the old favourites and a chance to hear the best Christmas carols and songs performed with style by the Island’s favourite choir. All the money raised at this event will go towards supporting the charitable work of the Quay. Tickets for the carol concert are £8.
To launch the new exhibition in The West Gallery by Jenny Clayden: Figured Out, a preview and meet the artist is being held from 15:00-17:00, free entry and everyone welcome. Celebrated Island artist Jenny Clayden presents handcrafted papier mache figures made over the last twenty years.
At 17:00, there will be an opportunity to find out more about the new Quay Arts regular giving scheme with a launch of Love Quay, meet the Quay Team and Trustees and share a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.
To round off the day at 20:00 an evening of live music and food with Jazz Café and performing this Saturday is the fabulous John Etheridge & Kate Daniels Quartet. Tickets are £11 in advance or more on the door.
