Over 40 different characters are lining up for this year’s Festival of Heroes, which returns to Brading Roman Villa on 28th and 29th July.
This one of a kind event is now in its third year and offers a great weekend of fun for all the family. Thousands of people are expected to attend, especially if the weather continues the way it is!
All monies raised over the weekend go to the local children’s charity Daisy Chains IW. Daisy Chains was founded in 2012 by 2 Island parents, both of whom have children that have been affected by long term sickness or disability. The charity has grown and now helps those parents who are unable to access the equipment, transport and therapies needed to help their children progress.
Organisers say that this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever before, with more entrances to avoid the queues experienced in 2017.
The main arena will feature a super hero/princess dance off, Team Kinetix Hero Parkour, Danceatomic, Haven Falconry display, Starlight Boutique and The Greatest Show, all compared by Steppin’ Out Boogie Bus.
For 2018 a ‘Rainbow Garden’ has been introduced for the smaller children. Youngsters will be able to make a super hero spoon, take in magic from Huxley Hunt, learn circus skills with Starlight Boutique and meet Poppy and Branch Troll.
If that wasn’t all, visitors can expect face painting, vintage Island amusements, hook-a-duck, bouncy castles, bungee trampolines, Nerf Wars, Ponies and more. There will also be a whole host of concessions
Daisy’s Tea Shop will be up and running for a nice cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake.
Entry is just £3 per adult and £2 per child, payable on the gate. Free parking is available.
