FAMILY APPEAL AFTER DAYTIME BURGLARY IN RYDE

UPDATED: A family in Ryde have been left shocked and upset after a number of items were stolen from their home in Ryde yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).

Police are investigating the burglary of 3 iPads, an iPhone, a Lumix camera, foreign cash and travellers cheques from a property on Melville Street at sometime between 15:00 and 17:00.

It is thought the thief entered the house via Bellevue Road before smashing a window and unbolting a pair of French doors.

A man with a large scar on his cheek and wearing a beret was seen in the vicinity at the time of the incident. The homeowners, who are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch, would like to rule out any possibilities.

UPDATE THURSDAY – A 37-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested in connection with the incident. He is being questioned by Police.
