The Museum of Island History at Newport’s Guildhall is giving visitors the chance to handle original First World War artefacts with a free event tomorrow (Thursday) between 14:00 and 16:00.
These include trench art, shrapnel, an officer’s belt and a Queen Mary tin. There’s a chance to try on replica uniforms (adult and children sizes) and see 3D stereoscopic postcards of wartime scenes.
You can also meet heritage staff and learn about the Island during the First World War.
