Medina Bookshop, in partnership with folk hub Vecta Music, will play host to George Boomsma on Wednesday 19th April.
Hailing from North Yorkshire, Boomsma is critically acclaimed as one of the UK’s most talented and original singer-songwriters to emerge in recent years. He is regularly compared to past luminaries including Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake, having played alongside and supported revered folk artists, including Katherine Priddy, Richard Thompson, Scott Matthews and Kathryn Williams.
Recent milestones for George include a well-received Glastonbury performance. He has also been championed by BBC Radio 1, Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music. George is presented by Medina Bookshop in partnership with Vecta Music, a new local folk, roots and acoustic music hub for the Isle of Wight.
Promoter, Paul Armfield stated:
“In terms of creativity, George has something special that is all his own.”
Co-promoter Ben Allman, who met George at a Manchester folk conference, said:
“I am extremely excited to introduce the island to such a unique, talented singer who will undoubtedly make waves critically and commercially over the next few months.”
Tickets can be purchased in-store at Medina Bookshop, by phone or via their website. The concert starts at 7pm on Wednesday 19th April.

Looks like a very miserable chap. Like someone who left a winning lottery ticket in his trousers before washing them. Cheer up! It might never happen
