isleofwightcountyshowgroundNeed advice on the next step of your career? Hundreds of young Islanders are being invited to attend a showcase event this coming Monday at the County Showground in Northwood.

The Isle Of Wight Chamber of Commerce, Job Centre Plus, Isle of Wight College, Isle of Wight Council, HTP Training, Smart Training & Recruitment, Care Learning Centre and National Career Service will all be represented at ‘Inspiring Tomorrow’s Workforce’ which will run from 10:00-14:00 on Monday 29th June.

The event is a chance for young people to learn more about the options available to them, including employment, further education and apprenticeships. It’s also a chance for Island businesses to engage with young people who could well become future employees. For young people it’s a rare chance to talk directly to a range of businesses, offering them a good understanding of the types of sectors, industries and jobs that are available on the Isle of Wight.

The day’s activities will include Speed Networking, offering a young people a chance to talk directly to business leaders. You’ll be able to ask any questions you like about the world of work and, after a few minutes, you’ll move on to the next employer. It’s a fast-paced way of learning as much as possible about a wide range of businesses.

There will also be Industry Sector Presentations, showcasing the different types of jobs and potential employers on the Island.

There will also be exhibition stands offering young people a chance to follow-up on the day’s activities on a one-to-one basis. It’s easy to attend too, with free parking and the event will be served by Southern Vectis’ route 1 buses.
